  • So this happened recently, my sister (we'll call her "J") and her husband organized and fully sponsored a 2-day family beach trip as their treat before flying back to the UK.
  • Day one? Perfect it was amazing, everyone was vibing and super chill, great food, lot of laughs. The kind of day you wish you could bottle up where everyone enjoying the time together.
  • Then came day two. J woke up in a good mood, same as everyone. A few hours in, all us sisters decided to go swimming. Now,

  • before the trip, J asked if she could borrow her favorite swimsuit of mine. I forgot to pack that one, but I did bring an extra
  • and offered it to her. She said that was totally fine. Until she saw the new swimsuit I was wearing, suddenly she wanted that one
  • instead. I told her no cause she already had the extra suit I brought for her, and she'd been okay with it. I thought it was no

  • big deal, and I went outside to take some pics. Not long after, our older sister told me that J and her husband were suddenly
  • leaving early. The reason? "They had to prepare their things for the Uk trip." Which was weird, because that definitely wasn't the
  • plan. They even brought our brother and cousin with them (since they all came in the same car), so it messed up a lot for the rest of us.
  • But here's the real kicker: they left us with a huge chunk of the resort bill unpaid, plus car gas expenses that were originally covered by them. So much for "our treat."
  • So yeah, what started as a sweet farewell trip turned into a passive-aggressive exit because | wouldn't give up my swimsuit and ended with a surprise bill.
  • Entitled much?
  • NaturesVividPictures Don't most Resorts make you pay in advance? Unless it was like a hotel and not a package place like sandals or something like that it would have been payable in advance most likely. So I would send
  • her a bill afterwards I mean I don't know why all of you thought she was paying the bill for everyone but you could always get someone every once the money back and you split it however many ways between you.
  • ReasonableGarden839 If you only had part of the cost, shouldn't the resort have a payment method for your entitled sis or her husband? Otherwise just refuse to pay.
  • happyhaven1984 I don't get why you'd have to pay they have her card on file if she and her husband booked the place
  • DaveWpgC Sh like that should happen only once for a given acquaintance/relative. I'd never put myself in a position like that where they could do
  • it again. I'd also never bring it up with them, just take a mental note & remember that when people tell you who they are, you should listen.
